The Grimsby Institute Group is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for young people, vulnerable adults and ensuring that action is taken to support them if any concerns are raised.

We all have a right to feel safe from harm - this may be:

What you can do:

The Grimsby Institute Group staff can provide access to support and help you deal with many issues affecting your safety and wellbeing. So, if there is time when you have concerns, are unhappy or you are worried about the welfare of another Learners there is always someone you can talk to:

  1. You may want to speak to your tutor or support worker
  2. If you would prefer to speak to a Safeguarding Representative, all of their contact details can be seen on the safeguarding website
  3. If you want to speak directly to the Safeguarding Officer, you can contact us on 01472 311222, Ext 474
  4. The Grimsby Institute Group has a safeguarding duty phone and you can text a concern to 07920860241 (Texts may be charged at your normal rate). If you do choose to use this service, the safeguarding team will receive your text and they will text you back and arrange to meet up with you.
Please remember, whoever you speak to may in turn refer you to the Safeguarding Officer for further guidance. If there is a serious issue which may result in serious harm being cause to someone, then they may have to consult appropriate outside agencies and act accordingly.

Learners should be assured that all disclosures and/or reports of concerns or suspicions will be taken seriously and dealt with sensitively and respectfully in accordance with the relevant local guidelines.

We are here to help if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world.

We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking.
