Community Organisations

Grimsby Institute Group works with a large number of organisations and community groups to maximise the experience of our learners. We see these partnerships as an essential element in the experience of our learners, teaching them valuable skills like teamwork and the importance of community relations. Some of the organisations that we work with include:

Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards - Held annually at the Grimsby Auditorium, our learners provide entertainment and catering to key organisations and high-profile figures from across the business sector in our region.

Humber Industry Nature Conservation Association - Recent work includes Fabrication & Welding learners creating a charcoal kiln at Chase Hill Woods for e.on Power Station in Killingholme.

Girls into Engineering - Our Engineering Department work with a number of local organisations to bring this event to the Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education. The event includes workshops and talks from leading industry figures around the possible careers available in Engineering.

Communities Together - Learners take part in many events throughout the year including the International Market and Cultural Show, which is held annually at Cleethorpes Memorial Hall.

Lightworks - A highlight of the artistic calendar in our region sees tutors and learners joining international artists for a multimedia festival at Grimsby Minster.

Offstage Choices - Schools from across our region are invited to Grimsby Auditorium, where Auditorium staff are joined by Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education tutors delivering workshops and creative sessions, looking at the possible careers that are available backstage in theatre and event management.

Pufin Group - Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education Hair & Beauty learners train in how to assess and manage the cutting of hair of children with autism.

Look Good, Feel Better - A programme that has been established to support women with Cancer. Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education Hair & Beauty learners provide mini-manicures, facials and other treatments to members of our local community.
